Becoming a Diamond Specialist

Charlie has worked at Woods for almost 20 years, starting as a Saturday girl and working her way up. She is not only manager, but also our resident gemmologist, stringer and valuer – a lady of many talents!

She has undertaken many courses in her time here at Woods, and gained titles such as PJDip, for passing her Jet 2 Diploma, and more recently a FGA for completing her Gemmology Diploma.

Her latest endeavour is the Gem-A Diamond Diploma. This course is full of up-to-date knowledge concerning diamonds and lab grown diamonds. Here’s an extract from Gem A providing some insight into what she will learn from the course:

“The international diamond industry is vast and multi-faceted, with many thousands of stakeholders performing vital roles throughout the diamond pipeline. The Gem-A Diamond Diploma is a trusted and highly respected industry qualification that is recognised globally as a signifier of rigorous and scientific diamond knowledge."

Over the years we have helped our staff to complete numerous courses, ensuring that we are providing our customers with the most accurate and current knowledge of an ever-changing industry.
