Bespoke Designs, what makes them bespoke?
The answer is simple, you do! Here at Woods, we can create one-of-a kind pieces of jewellery exactly to your specification.
This is a process we love! Seeing designs evolve, encompassing all of our customer’s wishes, moving from paper and pencil, to CAD and then onto the bench - it’s a fascinating process. What’s more, we now try to film many of these designs from start to finish, so you can see the entire process unfold too!
You may not realise that the real hidden gem at Woods… is our workshop! Hiding downstairs are a team of talented individuals, all of whom contribute to the smooth running of Woods Jewellers. Here on-site we have a Gemmologist who sources loose gemstones, a design team who work on CAD design software and two Goldsmiths, who hand-craft and hand-finish these items.
We can work to all sorts of specifications, if you have a budget, we can start by sourcing loose stones to suit, if you’d like a particular carat, colour or clarity diamond we can source that for you too. We have created a huge array of designs; based from works of art, animals, buildings, and even tattoos! We can combine sentiment and beauty together, into one timeless piece of jewellery.
Have you ever inherited something that you want to keep, but won’t wear? We can melt down old jewellery, re-set old stones …and turn it into something new! We have several YouTube videos showing this process.
In 2018 we celebrated our 70th Anniversary and over the past 10 ten years since we introduced CAD software into our workshop, we have created more than 850 bespoke designs. Alongside this a lot of the jewellery in our front window is designed and made on-site, so you can rest assured that you are in very experienced hands!
