Welcome to Woods Jewellers ("we", "us", "our"). We are a fine jewellery retailer offering high-value pieces crafted from precious metals and gemstones. We operate this website and online store (the "Services"). By accessing or using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
SECTION 1 - ELIGIBILITY AND ACCOUNT
You must be at least 18 years old to place an order. You agree to provide accurate, current and complete information when making a purchase or creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account details.
SECTION 2 - OUR COLLECTIONS, CRAFTSMANSHIP AND MATERIALS
2.0 Craftsmanship and Materials
At Woods Jewellers, we take pride in offering fine jewellery crafted using precious metals and carefully selected gemstones. Each piece is created or sourced with a focus on quality, durability and timeless design. While we strive for consistency across our collections, the handcrafted nature of many items means subtle variations may occur, contributing to the individuality of each piece.
2.1 Product Presentation
We take great care to present our jewellery as accurately as possible. However:
- Images are for illustrative purposes only.
- Colours, finishes and scale may vary depending on your device.
2.2 Natural Gemstones
Our pieces often feature natural gemstones. As such:
- Each stone is unique and may vary in colour, clarity, and inclusions.
- These natural variations are part of the character of fine jewellery and are not defects.
2.3 Measurements and Specifications
All carat weights, dimensions and specifications are approximate and may vary within accepted industry tolerances.
2.4 Precious Metals and Hallmarking
All applicable items comply with UK hallmarking regulations. Metal types and purities are described accurately to the best of our knowledge.
2.5 Wear, Care and Longevity
Fine jewellery requires appropriate care. We are not responsible for damage arising from:
- Everyday wear and tear
- Impact, accidental damage or misuse
- Exposure to chemicals or improper storage. We recommend regular maintenance and appropriate insurance for high-value items.
SECTION 3 - RING SIZING AND BESPOKE WORK
3.1 Ring Sizing
Customers are responsible for confirming accurate ring size prior to purchase. We cannot accept liability for incorrect sizing provided by the customer.
3.2 Bespoke, Made-to-Order and Altered Items
Items that are bespoke, engraved, resized or otherwise personalised are non-refundable unless faulty or not as described.
SECTION 4 - ORDERS
All orders are subject to acceptance. We reserve the right to refuse, cancel or limit orders at our discretion, including where fraud or unauthorised activity is suspected.
SECTION 5 - PRICING AND PAYMENT
All prices are in GBP and include VAT unless otherwise stated. Prices may change without notice. Payment must be received in full before dispatch.
SECTION 6 - DELIVERY AND SECURITY
6.1 Delivery
Delivery times are estimates only.
6.2 Risk and Ownership
Goods remain our responsibility until delivered to you. Risk passes upon confirmed delivery.
6.3 High-Value Shipments
For security, high-value items will be sent via insured and signed-for delivery. We may contact you to verify identity prior to dispatch.
6.4 Billing and Delivery Addresses
For security and fraud prevention, the billing address provided at the time of purchase must match the delivery address for all orders. If the addresses differ, we may contact you to verify your identity before dispatching the goods.
SECTION 7 - RETURNS AND CANCELLATIONS
Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations, you may cancel eligible orders within 14 days of delivery. Exceptions apply to:
- Bespoke or personalised items
- Resized or altered pieces
- Earrings due to personal hygiene
Returned items must be in original, unworn condition with all packaging.
To exercise your right to cancel, you must inform us in writing within 14 calendar days of receiving the products by emailing customerservices@woodsjewellers.co.uk. You shall send back any products without undue delay, not later than 14 days from notifying us.
SECTION 8 - FAULTY OR NOT AS DESCRIBED GOODS
Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. If a product is faulty or not as described, you are entitled to a repair, replacement or refund in accordance with UK law.
SECTION 9 - WARRANTY AND REPAIRS
We may offer a voluntary warranty on certain products. Details will be provided at point of sale where applicable. This warranty does not cover:
- Accidental damage
- Loss or theft
- Normal wear and tear
SECTION 10 - LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where unlawful, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for:
- Indirect or consequential losses
- Loss of profits, revenue or business
SECTION 11 - VALUATIONS AND INSURANCE
We may provide valuation certificates for certain in-store purchases; however, they are not automatically provided for online purchases unless expressly stated. We strongly recommend that all high-value jewellery is independently insured following delivery. Responsibility for safeguarding the item rests with you.
SECTION 12 - INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
All website content, imagery and branding are owned by Woods Jewellers and may not be used without permission.
SECTION 13 - GOVERNING LAW
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
